Zetti's Pizza & Pasta in Amherst has close to 20 different kinds of pizza on the menu. Joe stuck with his usual and found something different from the Buffalo pies he'd been eating.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni for $24.02. The pepperoni lies flat instead of cupping, and the crust looked flaky.
First bite
It's nice and thin, and Joe called it New York style. He was a little worried when he saw it, but the flavor won him over.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin and cooked well, even if the cut wasn't great.
- Sauce: Takes a back seat. A touch more would help.
- Cheese: Tasty. A little greasy but not too greasy.
- Pepperoni: Reminded Joe of the pepperoni back home in Canada.
What would make it better
A little more sauce, and Joe would love to try it with cup and char pepperoni.
The verdict
Zetti's is a nice change of pace from thicker Buffalo pizza. Joe gave it an 8.6, a solid pie in Amherst.
