Campobello's Pizza is on Transit Road in East Amherst. A viewer recommended it on review.pizza.
The order
Joe ordered a large, which looked like an 18-inch, cheese pepperoni for $33.40. It's heavy enough to be a little workout. Lots of pepperoni on one side, a little sparse on the other. The cut was perfect, and Joe pulled a slice one handed.
First bite
A nice cheese pull and light browning underneath. The sauce had nice flavor right away.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Lightly cooked but still with a little crunch, flirting with medium thickness. Good flavor with a nice homemade taste. Joe wondered if it was yeast coming through.
- Sauce: Nice and not overpowering. Some herbs, but they don't fight the flavors.
- Cheese: Solid.
- Pepperoni: Thick cut cup and char, which Joe seems to like a little more. It even had a little buttery flavor.
What would make it better
A little more cook and it would rock and roll.
The verdict
Joe noted that a light cook seems to be a trend around Buffalo. Still, it's a good pizza, and he gave it an 8.3.
