Bocce Club is one of the best-known names in Buffalo pizza. Joe stopped at the Bailey Avenue location in Amherst to see what the fuss is about.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni for $29.45. The box is huge, and a single slice is about as big as a whole pizza in Canada.
First bite
Sauce and cheese go all the way to the edge, and the slices flop. Joe found the flavors fantastic right away, but the slice was a little doughy.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Good flavor, but it needed more cook to get through a pie this big.
- Sauce: What really shines through. Great flavor.
- Cheese: Joe says Buffalo's cheese is nothing like what he gets in Canada. Fantastic.
- Pepperoni: Tasty, though it wasn't really cupping up.
What would make it better
More time in the oven and a spicier cup and char pepperoni would push it higher.
