Amherst Pizza and Ale House on Crosspoint Parkway makes a pizza so heavy Joe could barely hold it.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni for $29.90. It came with a "Go Bills" sticker and a lot of cup and char pepperoni. Joe guessed the pie weighs over 10 pounds.
First bite
Every bite was loaded with pepperoni and a mouthful of that Buffalo-Niagara cheese. A single slice could be a meal for some people.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Cheese: Joe's favorite part. There's a lot of it.
- Pepperoni: Plenty of it, and the cups are nice, but they're missing a bold, spicy flavor.
- Sauce: A good amount, but a little dense and paste-like.
- Size: Not cheap, but it'll feed a crowd.
What would make it better
A spicier pepperoni would help, especially with this sauce, and Joe would like to try it with a different sauce.
