Vargo's Pizzeria Restaurant Review – Lancaster, NY
score
Vargo's Pizzeria Restaurant is on Walden Avenue in Lancaster, just outside of Buffalo. A viewer suggested it on review.pizza.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni for $21.63. The cup and char pepperoni was spread nicely right to the outer edge, with a sprinkling of herbs on top. The cut needed a little medium help.
First bite
Medium to dark browning underneath and cheese grease dripping. Joe liked the looks of it, and he liked the sauce right away.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin and cooked dark underneath, but still kind of soft, with a little crisp on the back. That combination left Joe a little confused.
- Sauce: Joe liked that it's not too rich and thick.
- Cheese: Fantastic.
- Pepperoni: Cup and char that looked a little thicker and bigger than usual. Nice, mellow flavor with a little spice on the back.
The verdict
Joe called it a solid grease wheel with a lot of shining stars and great magic on top. Only the crust had his mind messed up. He gave it an 8.5 and said he'd like to try it again to see if it comes out the same way.
