The Pizza Heist is on Aurora Street in Lancaster, right outside of Buffalo. A viewer recommended it on review.pizza, and Joe loved the name and the box.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch pizza for $18.48. It came cheesy with cup and char pepperoni.
First bite
Joe lost a lot of cheese on the first pull, but underneath was medium browning with leoparding. He got a lot of sauce in that bite and it was fantastic.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: The crunchy bite was money.
- Sauce: A little sweeter. A bit aggressive with the herbs, but not over the top.
- Cheese: "Something else." Joe said it blows Canadian cheese out of the water.
- Pepperoni: The cup and char you get out here.
What would make it better
Just a little more cook. But Joe noted that's Buffalo style and how they like it, and this Canadian doesn't want to tell them how to do it.
The verdict
They're crushing it in the Depew and Lancaster area. Joe gave The Pizza Heist an 8.4.
