The Grill on Erie is on Erie Avenue in North Tonawanda. When Joe called in, they asked if he wanted Junction style or traditional. He asked which was better, they said Junction, and the viewer who recommended the place said the same.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni, Junction style, for $25.36. They told him Junction means more toppings, and they weren't kidding. It's loaded with lay flat pepperoni and has a bigger crust.
First bite
A mouthful of pepperoni, lots of thick sauce and lots of cheese. The grease from the pepperoni spills right over.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: A little crunch underneath, but Joe wondered if there were too many toppings to cook it all the way through.
- Sauce: Thick, and a lot of it.
- Cheese: Fantastic.
- Pepperoni: Good, with some crisp to it. The back bite with the pepperoni was good.
What would make it better
Joe thinks the distribution is off, with too much sauce, cheese and pepperoni for him. He'd love to come back and try the traditional.
The verdict
The flavors are good and Joe can see how some people would love it, but there was just too much going on for him. He gave The Grill on Erie a 7.5, with props for offering him the choice.
