Say Cheese Pizza Co Review – Grand Island, NY
score
Say Cheese Pizza Company is on Grand Island. They wouldn't take Canadian money, and Joe had to find a guy inside who recognized him to swap it.
The order
Joe ordered a large 15-inch cheese pepperoni for $26.90. It came with nicely done cup and char and sauce and cheese to the edge. With all the running around, the pizza cooled down a bit before he dug in.
First bite
Medium thickness with a soft crust. Joe said it almost feels like a grilled cheese.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Medium and soft, with grilled cheese vibes.
- Sauce: Joe liked it.
- Cheese: Not as creamy as other places. Joe isn't sure if it was the sitting time, but for American cheese it doesn't stand out. He joked it should be Say Pepperoni Pizza Company.
- Pepperoni: Nice and charred up with good flavor.
What would make it better
Better cheese, and maybe a little more sauce.
The stuffed pepper pizza
Joe also tried a 15-inch stuffed pepper pizza at $29.35, with banana peppers, gorgonzola, sauce on top and what turned out to be bacon. It sat a bit too, for the same money reasons. Joe liked it better than the cheese pepperoni. The peppers have good flavor and a little spice, the gorgonzola is smooth and creamy, and the sauce is good and salty. He'd like to try it fresh out of the oven, and says it would go great with beers. He gave the rest to a fan in the parking lot.
The verdict
It's decent. Joe gave it a 7.1, and the stuffed pepper pizza is the better pick.
Ranking note: Best Pizza Buffalo ranks every pizzeria by Joe’s score for a standard pizza, so Say Cheese Pizza Co is listed at 7.1.
