The order
Joe ordered a large 17-inch cheese pepperoni for $19.56. Cup and char was happening, the slices were big, and the cut needed just a little help.
First bite
The first bite was a mouthful of dairy. It wasn't that ooey gooey cheese, but it was a lot of it. The underside sat right between light and medium brown.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Between medium and thick. The inside was nice and soft, cloudlike. The back had some nice crunch but was a little on the dry side.
- Sauce: Mellow.
- Cheese: The shining star, along with the crispy pepperoni.
- Pepperoni: Cup and char with nice crisp. Joe likes it when they crisp up because it adds depth of flavor and crunch.
What would make it better
Joe wasn't sure if it was just that part of the crust, but the back was a little dry. He wasn't even sure how to fix it, only that a little more tenderness there would make it better.
The verdict
The inner part of the slice was fantastic and the flavor stayed good all the way back. Joe called it a good solid pizza and gave it an 8.1.
