Rocco's Wood Fired Pizza Review – Williamsville, NY
score
Rocco's Wood Fired Pizza is on Transit Road in Williamsville. A viewer recommended it on review.pizza. Wood fired is Joe's favorite style, so he holds it to a high benchmark.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $31.40. He'd never had a 16-inch wood fired pizza before. It came with shredded basil, which he could smell, and cup and char pepperoni. The cut was perfect, so points out of the gate.
First bite
A little leoparding underneath and some charred flavor. Super thin and super cheesy, with a little basil.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Super thin and soft all around. Joe is used to wood fired pizza with a little crunch and crisp, like at The Lock in Port Colborne. He said a dipping sauce would be good with a crust like this.
- Sauce: Nice and mellow. The basil complements it very well.
- Pepperoni: Nice and thick cut cup and char.
What would make it better
Crisp it up the way they do it back in Canada at The Lock in Port Colborne.
The verdict
Still tasty and a good solid pizza, but Joe said that so far Canada does wood fired better. Hockey stick, hockey stick, he gave it a 7.7.
