The order
Joe ordered a large 17-inch pizza done in a deck oven for $22.50. It came with cup and char pepperoni and a couple of smaller slices, which Joe liked. Maybe it could use a couple more peps.
First bite
Light to medium browning, and the pepperoni had a nice crisp even with the light cook. The crust has a soft chew to it.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Pillowy and well proofed. A medium thickness, more bready than crunchy.
- Sauce: A little rich, but it complements the bready crust well.
- Cheese: You can't go wrong with the cheese out here.
- Pepperoni: Nicely crisped, adding different textures and layers to the pizza.
What would make it better
Joe would like to try it cooked a little more, though he isn't sure if he'd like it better.
The verdict
A pretty standard Buffalo pie and a solid one all around. Joe gave Rob's Topico an 8.1.
