Raintree Bar and Grill is on Colvin Boulevard in Tonawanda, right next to a cookie factory. Joe called it the best smelling spot for a pizza review so far.
The order
Joe ordered a large 18-inch cheese pepperoni for $22.80. A couple of spots were missing pepperoni, but not too bad.
First bite
Joe was tasting pizza but smelling cookies. He had to focus. Underneath had light to medium browning.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Medium thickness with a nice cook.
- Sauce: Tastes good, but a little light.
- Cheese: Good, but not standard Buffalo cheese. Joe said it seemed almost more Canadian, less greasy.
- Pepperoni: Good flavor.
What would make it better
More sauce and a change in the cheese.
The verdict
It's a good pizza, far from bad, but nothing too crazy. Joe gave Raintree a 7.4.
