Pie O Mine is on Sheridan Drive in Tonawanda. Joe thought it was a chain and didn't expect to like it. He reviewed it in a windstorm.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch pizza for $21.74, done in what looked like a gas oven. It's a super thin pie with an unusual outer crust that looked rolled up somehow.
First bite
Joe was unsure when he saw the crust, but the ratios are money and the flavors are good. He called it deceiving.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin, with leoparding underneath. Cooked nicely, though a little more cook would add some crunch on the outside.
- Sauce: A nice mellow sauce.
- Cheese: Greasy in a good way, with nice oranging.
- Pepperoni: Pretty mild without a ton of flavor, but not bringing the pizza down.
What would make it better
Joe would like to try it with cup and char pepperoni and a little more cook.
The verdict
Joe didn't see this coming. He gave Pie O Mine an 8.2 all day and told skeptics to give it a try.
