Pat's Pizzeria Review – Buffalo, NY

Pat's Pizzeria sits at the corner of Ontario Street and Evelyn Street in Buffalo. Joe first reviewed it in 2023 and came back in 2025 to try it again.
The order
On the return visit Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni done in a deck oven for $23.33. Pat's was not shy with the cup and char. The pie was covered in it.
First bite
Joe's first bite was all cheese. He wasn't sure he hit any crust, and it was unreal.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: A thinner style that tastes fresh, like they make it in house. Perfectly proofed with a nice cook underneath.
- Cheese: Amazing. Joe said the cheese was money.
- Pepperoni: Holy cup and char. Plenty of it.
What would make it better
Get it to hold together a little better. Everything was falling off, but Joe said they weren't shy.
The first visit in 2023
On his first trip, Joe ordered an 18-inch cheese pepperoni done in a deck oven for $22.40. He called it a typical standard Buffalo pizza, with a sweet sauce that wasn't over sweet, a little oregano, a nice crispy outside edge and lots of steaming sauce. The distribution was money. It was a little lightly cooked, which Joe said is very standard for Buffalo. With a little more cook, he said this could have been flirting with the nines.
The meat lovers
Joe also tried a large 16-inch meat lovers for $29.31, with pepperoni, bacon, sausage and ham. His first audio didn't record, so he did it again after the pie sat about 13 minutes. He said it was actually better after sitting. The sauce is delicious, with tomato, a little herb and a little sweetness, and the crust is fantastic. Every meat was good on its own, but for Joe it was too much going on for one slice, with flavors fighting each other.
The verdict
Joe liked the plain cheese pepperoni better than the meat lovers. It's cooked better and the cheese is money. He gave Pat's an 8.6 and said they're doing it right on Ontario Street.
