Papa Leo's Pizzeria Review – Lockport, NY
score
Papa Leo's Pizzeria is on Main Street in Lockport. Joe likes how Lockport places handle ordering. When he called, they asked if he wanted sweet or traditional sauce, and recommended the traditional, which they said isn't sweet like some other places in town.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $22.10, done in a deck oven. It had big slices with smaller cup and char pepperoni, good distribution, and a cut that was perfection.
First bite
Hot, and delish. The underside had light browning, and grease was dripping, right onto Joe's shoes, which were airbrushed by his friend Desmond.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin, almost medium. The back bites had a little crunch and were the best part.
- Sauce: What Joe could taste most, and a good one.
- Pepperoni: Nice flavor. Joe guessed it's pork.
- Seasoning: Missing a touch. Joe wasn't sure if it was because the pizza was so hot and hadn't settled, but it could use a little more salt.
What would make it better
A little more cook, and a little more salt.
The verdict
Good sauce, solid distribution, and a perfect cut. Joe gave Papa Leo's a 7.9.
