Molinaro's Ristorante Review – Lockport, NY
score
Molinaro's Ristorante is on Walnut Street in Lockport. A viewer recommended it on review.pizza.
The order
Joe ordered a large 18-inch cheese pepperoni for $27.90. It came tavern cut, with cup and char on what looked like a thicker pizza.
First bite
A nice brown underneath with some cornmeal. Then the sauce hit. Joe called it a sweet, sweet sauce, though he said he's starting to get used to that in Lockport. He joked that being a dentist must be a good profession out there.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Nice and doughy, like a bakery style crust at the back. It balances pretty well with the sweet sauce.
- Sauce: Sweet. Is it too sweet? Joe says that's up to you, but it's flirting with it and pushing the envelope.
- Pepperoni: Cup and char with nice girth. Thicker cut, a little greasy and a little salty, which balances the sweetness.
The verdict
This one comes down to how sweet you like your sauce. For Joe it was just a little on the sweet side, so he gave it an 8.1. If sweeter is your style, he'd definitely hit this place up. It will fill up a bunch of people.
