Kensington Pizza Review – Buffalo, NY
score
Kensington Pizza is on Kensington Avenue in Buffalo. When Joe called in, they asked if he wanted triangles or squares. Squares get you more slices, so he went square.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $20.35. It came square cut with lay flat pepperoni on a thin crust.
First bite
Nice dark browning underneath. It's a little on the darker side but not burnt, and it's softer to the taste than it looks.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin on the outside, a bit thicker toward the middle. The outer bite is fantastic.
- Sauce: Plentiful, with some herbs, but on the thicker, pasty side.
- Cheese: You can't go wrong with the cheese in the USA.
- Pepperoni: Lay flat, seasoned well, salty and still crispy.
What would make it better
A sauce switch to something less pasty and more tomatoey. Joe said this one doesn't even need cup and char.
The verdict
Kensington Pizza is good and solid. That last crunchy bite pushed it to an 8.0.
