Johnny's Pizzeria is on Union Road in Cheektowaga. A viewer recommended it on review.pizza, and Joe was happy to be back in the States for this one.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $25 flat. The box had holes to let the steam out. Inside was nice cup and char, lots of pepperoni and lots of cheese.
First bite
Joe dropped half the cheese on the first bite, but that gave him a good look at the sauce, and it's a nice one.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Nice medium thickness with good browning and a nice crunch on the back.
- Sauce: Just a little sweetness, and you can taste the tomato.
- Cheese: Amazing. Gooey and seasoned with some salt.
- Toppings: They go to the edge. The grease was running down Joe's hand.
What would make it better
The pepperoni would be better with some spice.
The verdict
It's hard to beat Buffalo pizza. Joe called this one absolutely fantastic and gave it an 8.7. Johnny's makes a good pie.
