Joey's Pizzeria Review – Niagara Falls, NY
score
Joey's Pizzeria sits on Buffalo Avenue in Niagara Falls, New York. The thin crust had Joe wondering if it inspired the Joey's back in Port Colborne.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $17.70. It came with a good amount of cup and char and a sprinkle of dried spices on top. Joe guessed oregano and maybe parsley.
First bite
The pizza was so hot and fresh out of the oven that Joe lost a bunch of the goodness on the first bite. It's thin, cheesy and super thin for him, the kind of slice you fold up.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin, and Joe liked that a lot. He felt it was almost a cross between Niagara Falls thin and Buffalo thick, and just a little doughy.
- Sauce: Once it cooled down a bit, Joe really started liking it.
- Cheese: One of his two favorite parts, along with the sauce.
- Pepperoni: Cup and char that's very good. Some spice would make it even better.
What would make it better
A spicier pepperoni, and a crust that's a touch less doughy.
The verdict
Joe called it a good pizza and gave it an 8.1. He planned to have another slice on the way to his next review.
