JJ's Casa Di Pizza is on Mohawk Street in Buffalo. If you like cheese, Joe says this is the one.
The order
Joe ordered a large, which he was pretty sure was an 18-inch, for $27.18. The box had some real weight to it. It had cup and char pepperoni, nice bubbles and toppings going pretty close to the edge.
First bite
Nice dark browning underneath, and a cheese pull Joe had to break. There was cheese in his stomach before he was done chewing.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Between medium and thin, cooked nice and dark underneath. Even so, there wasn't a ton of crunch on the back, because of all the cheese.
- Sauce: Really nice flavor, with a touch of herbs that isn't over potent.
- Cheese: Super cheesy. All that weight is the cheese.
- Pepperoni: Cup and char, and plenty of it. Joe went for one and got three.
The verdict
Joe called it a solid grease wheel with lots of cheese, a mellow sauce and cup and char. With snowmen in the springtime, he gave it an 8.8. It takes a while to chew because of all the cheese, and if you're a cheese fan, this is your pizza.
