Fra Amici Pizza & Pasta Review – Buffalo, NY
score
Fra Amici Pizza and Pasta is on Hopkins Street in Buffalo.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni for $23.37. It looked like an 18-inch in a big box, with lay flat pepperoni and huge slices. As soon as he opened it, he could smell garlic butter.
First bite
Light browning underneath, and the garlic butter comes through right away, even with the tomato sauce. It's different from what Joe is used to in Buffalo.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Medium thickness and soft, with a little crunch on the back. With all that garlic butter, it's almost like garlic bread.
- Sauce: Hard to taste through the garlic butter.
- Pepperoni: Not bad. It has a little greasiness but not a lot of depth.
What would make it better
A little lighter on the garlic butter. But if that's your thing, rock and roll.
The verdict
It doesn't feel like a Buffalo pizza, and it had Joe a little mind warped compared to everything else around here. Is it great? No. But it's still good. Joe said it's what he'd expect at the movie theater, only better, and gave it a 7.2.
