Chuck E. Cheese Review – Blasdell, NY
score
This was Joe's first time ever stepping inside a Chuck E. Cheese, at 41 years old. He came to the Milestrip Road location and planned two reviews, the regular pizza first and the stuffed crust right after.
The order
Joe ordered a large, which looked like a 14-inch cheese pepperoni, for $26.90. It looked like a kid style pizza, done on a screen with medium browning underneath.
First bite
Joe chatted with a couple of ladies while he tried it. After a few bites, the cheese and pepperoni were okay but the sauce, not so much.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin. Not terrible, but not Joe's favorite.
- Sauce: Tastes like it's out of a can and a little potent. You can taste some herbs.
- Cheese: Decent.
- Pepperoni: Just fine.
What would make it better
Change up the sauce and work on the crust a bit.
Going back for the stuffed crust
Joe came back for the stuffed crust, which also looked like a 14-inch, for $29.45. This one wasn't ready when he arrived 5 minutes early, so it came out hotter than the first, and that made the bites better. It tasted a little saltier. The crust was thin with a light, screen-baked look underneath. The back is where the stuffed crust should make the difference, but Joe found it was mostly more crust and a little dry. The cheese inside was decent. The sauce was still not great, though lighter this time. A side of marinara would help, or something to make that back end less dry.
The verdict
As a kid, Joe says this would be just fine, and the kids probably love it. For him it's a pass at 5.2. The stuffed crust was a disappointment and got a 4.9.
Ranking note: Best Pizza Buffalo ranks every pizzeria by Joe’s score for a standard pizza, so Chuck E. Cheese is listed at 5.2.
