Carbone's Pizza is on South Park Avenue in Buffalo. Lots of people recommended it on review.pizza. You can order it with regular or sweet sauce, and when Joe asked what they recommend, they said sweet.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $24.47. It came heavy on the pepperoni with a whole bunch of seasoning on top.
First bite
Soft crust. Joe lost a whole bunch of cheese on the first bite, which gave him a good look at the sauce.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Soft, with a light cook underneath.
- Sauce: A little sweet, but Joe could really taste the tomatoes. He liked the amount of it.
- Pepperoni: Not quite cup and char, more of a hybrid between cup and char and lay flat.
- Toppings: The amount is on point. Even with all those herbs on top, nothing fights the other flavors.
What would make it better
More cook. Joe also wants to come back and try the regular sauce. He says he should have ordered both.
The verdict
This is solid. Just because of the light cook, Joe gave it a 7.9. With a little more cook, he thinks it's in the eights, maybe higher.
