Buffalo Pizza Project Review – North Tonawanda, NY
score
Joe came back to Buffalo Pizza Project in North Tonawanda after trying their cheese pepperoni. This time he went for the wildest thing on the menu.
The order
Joe ordered a 17-inch Pittsburgh pizza for $32.39. It has honey mustard, mozzarella, chopped steak, seasoned waffle fries and coleslaw. There's no tomato sauce. Joe had never seen coleslaw on a pizza before.
First bite
The honey mustard is definitely sweet. The fries kept falling off, and the warm coleslaw was kind of weird.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Fries: The waffle fries with the honey mustard are delicious. Joe could eat all the fries.
- Coleslaw: Joe likes coleslaw on its own, but not on a pizza. Warm coleslaw has got to go.
- Steak: Pretty decent, though it tastes like regular beef.
- Texture: The slaw does add a little crunch to everything.
What would make it better
Take the coleslaw off. If you want the crunch, maybe add it after cooking.
The verdict
Joe has no idea why it's called the Pittsburgh. It's a lot much for him, and he gave it a 5.7, but nearly a 10 for creativity. He likes their creativity enough to come back and try other things.
