Bob & John's La Hacienda is on Hertel Avenue in Buffalo. Joe admits he had it confused with a La Hacienda in Niagara Falls. They're two different places.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch pizza done in a deck oven for $26.20. When he ordered, they asked if he wanted regular pepperoni or cup and char. He took the cup and char, and there was a nice amount of it.
First bite
Medium browning underneath with the grease dripping. It's saucy and tastes like tomatoes with just a little herb.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin to thinner. Not exactly Buffalo style for Joe, but that doesn't mean he didn't like it.
- Sauce: Nice tomato flavor, not crazy sweet.
- Cheese: It takes a back seat to the sauce.
- Pepperoni: Delicious cup and char.
What would make it better
Maybe just a little more cheese, though Joe admits that's being picky.
The verdict
A good, solid pizza. Joe called it an 8.5 pizza all day.
