The original Anchor Bar on Main Street is famous for one thing: it's where the Buffalo chicken wing was invented. Pizza Review Joe came for something else. He wanted to see how the landmark's pizza stacks up.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni for $18.80. When he opened the box, something was missing. There wasn't a single pepperoni in sight, on top or hidden under the cheese.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Sauce: Sweet and plentiful.
- Cheese: Lots of it. Joe said the slice reminded him of a grilled cheese with sauce.
- Pepperoni: None. It was ordered, it was paid for, and it never showed up.
The verdict
It broke Joe's heart to say it about a Buffalo landmark, but a cheese pepperoni pizza with no pepperoni gets a 0.0. It's the first time that has ever happened on the channel. Go for the wings, and if you order the pizza, check the box before you leave.
