Allentown Pizza on Elmwood Avenue is about as Buffalo as it gets. Joe even joked that it's Josh Allen-town.
The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $25.23. It came with cup and char pepperoni, huge slices and toppings all the way to the edge.
First bite
It's a thick, soft crust with a ton of cheese, and Joe felt it was even more Buffalo-style than most.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thick and soft, with a little crunch on the saucy back bite.
- Sauce: A little on the sweet side.
- Cheese: A lot of it, in classic Buffalo fashion.
- Pepperoni: Charred up nicely.
What would make it better
A little more cook underneath. Joe almost went higher, and says that's what would get it there.
The verdict
This is a pizza you could eat before a Bills game and still feel okay. Joe gave it a 7.9, and if Josh Allen ever actually stops by, it might score even higher.
