Abbott Road Pizza Review – Buffalo, NY
score
Abbott Road Pizza is just up the street from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo. Joe went straight from one to the other to see how they compare.
The order
Joe ordered a large cheese pepperoni for $23.21. It's a little smaller than Imperial's pie, but it comes with cup and char pepperoni, and the box promises "the best pizza in Buffalo."
First bite
It's a classic grab-and-go Buffalo pizza: saucy, cheesy and on the thicker side. The ratio of toppings is good.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thick, with a nice back bite, but it could have used more time in the oven.
- Sauce: Has some herbs in it.
- Cheese: The star. Creamy and full of flavor. Joe wondered if there's butter in there.
- Pepperoni: Cup and char that curls up nicely, though not Joe's favorite brand.
What would make it better
The back of the slice was cooked perfectly. If the whole pizza had been cooked like that, it would have scored a lot higher.
The verdict
Abbott Road Pizza is a good pie with great cheese. Joe gave it a 7.7. Score higher next time, but don't cry, you're still a good pie.
