The order
Joe ordered a large 16-inch cheese pepperoni for $16.20. That's about a buck an inch, which Joe called good value. It came with cup and char and a sprinkle of herbs.
First bite
It's cheesy, saucy and a nice thin crust, with cornmeal underneath. Joe said it wasn't just because of the owner that he liked it. The pizza is fantastic.
Crust, sauce, cheese and toppings
- Crust: Thin, cooked nicely underneath, with a little char on the back that Joe liked.
- Sauce: Takes more of a back seat to the cheese.
- Cheese: The standout. It tasted different from the cheese Joe had been having in the States. He'd heard some places out here use provolone and wondered if that was it.
- Pepperoni: Cup and char, with what Joe thought was a little Parmesan on top.
The verdict
It's a little different from the other pizzas around, and Joe thinks the cheese is why. He gave it an 8.4, a solid pizza at a great price.
